I actually maintain a list of improvement rom hacks, that aims to select the best possible improvement hacks per game. I'm glad we live in a day where there's fair zelda 1 and zelda 2 hacks, that being the ones you listed here. Hacks should aim to be fun, not frustrating and unbeatable. I like fair challenges that feel like regular games, not everyone is an expert or a masochist. I can't stand rom hacks that focus on making the game super difficult. I plan on playing Zelda Perils of Darkness next, I had my eye on it before this list was posted. I haven't played them yet so I will be getting to them soon. Best Zelda II hack for sure! It deserves the praise it gets.Īll the other hacks you listed have always been the top rated hacks that I heard about and I'm glad they're still recommended. The world is really well done and it feels like im playing Zelda II for the first time all over again. I started playing Zelda II Amida's Curse recently and I love it so far! It's tough but also well balanced. Coincidentally I started getting into rom hacks lately and sorting out my collection with new popular hacks, so this is really awesome timing!
